Ireland and Leinster flanker Dan Leavy has been compelled to resign in view of a well-established knee issue.
The 27-year-old has been fighting with the injury supported against Ulster two years prior and has now been encouraged by experts to hang up his boots.
Leavy was a piece of Ireland’s huge homerun winning side of 2018 and never lost a game for his country.
He was a horrendous power for territory and nation and fashioned a standing as a strong presence on the two sides of the ball.
This season he has played multiple times for Leinster, whom he helped win the Heineken Champions Cup in 2018, with his appearance against Ulster last month the last trip of an expert profession that began eight years prior.
“I’ve made them stun highs with my siblings in blue and in green and I’m past appreciative for those days and those minutes, particularly the highs of 2018 in Bilbao, the Aviva Arena and Twickenham,” added Leavy.
“More than that, I’m glad for how I conducted myself, specifically throughout the most recent couple of years.
“This isn’t the end I’d expected, yet as I glance back at the highs and the lows, they have all been imparted to the best colleagues, loved ones around me. What more would I be able to request?”
