Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has proposed former chief justice of Pakistan (CJP), Gulzar Ahmed, as the caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, in a tweet on Monday, said Imran Khan proposed the name of Justice retired Gulzar Ahmed in response to President Dr Arif Alvi’s letter for the purpose.

Earlier on Monday morning, according to a statement issued by the President House, Imran Khan will continue as the prime minister till appointment of a caretaker PM.

President Dr Arif Alvi had earlier approved the advice of the Prime Minister Imran Khan to dissolve the National Assembly under the Article 58 (1) read with Article 48(1) of the constitution.
Former information and law minister Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday said that Imran Khan would continue his duties as the premier under Article 224 of the constitution. However, the federal cabinet had been dissolved, he had added.
