JEDDAH: The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Monday rejected US President Donald Trump’s peace plan for the Middle East, calling on its 57 member states not to help implement it.

The 57-member body, which held a summit on Monday  to discuss the plan in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah, said in a statement that it “calls on all member states not to engage with this plan or to cooperate with the US administration in implementing it in any form”.

Requested by the Palestinian leadership, the meeting of the body came two days after the Arab League rejected Trump’s so-called “deal of the century”, saying: “It does not meet the minimum rights and aspirations of Palestinian people.”

Be clear the earlier, The Arab League has also completely rejected US President Donald Trump’s Middle East plan during an emergency meeting in Egypt’s capital, saying it would not lead to a just peace deal.

In a statement on Saturday, the pan-Arab bloc said it “rejects the US-Israeli ‘deal of the century’ considering that it does not meet the minimum rights and aspirations of Palestinian people.”

United States is a biased mediator: Palestinian President

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday blasted on several Arab countries for backing a Middle East peace plan unveiled by the United States.

U.S. President Donald Trump released on Tuesday his plan at the White House alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with no Palestinian officials present.

According to the sources of Anadolu Agency, The so-called peace plan unilaterally annuls previous UN resolutions on the Palestinian issue and suggests giving Israel almost everything it demanded.

Erdogan stressed that a “rogue state” such as Israel, which executes innocents on the streets, is completely unacceptable for Turkey.

“Leaving Jerusalem entirely in Israel’s bloody claws will be the greatest evil for all humanity,” he added.
