Prince Andrew under hot waters for taking £750,000 for Beatrice’s WEDDING’ from businessman

It was claimed that a £750,000 payment to Prince Andrew at the center of a High Court fraud case was intended for Princess Beatrice’s wedding.

An affidavit filed to the court by the claimant, Nebahat Evyap Isbilen, drew the Duke of York into the £40 million lawsuits.

According to the Times, Isbilen, the wife of an imprisoned Turkish MP, has seen an email from the suspected fraudster, Selman Turk, to her bank “explaining that this payment was a wedding gift to Princess Beatrice owing to the close link between our families.”

The Daily Mail also published the accusation Friday night, citing a transcript of a phone call between the claimed victim’s bank and a senior member of the Royal Household who appeared to be involved.

Isbilen claims she gave Turk and his firms her money in order to resettle in Britain, and that she was assured the £750,000 payment would help her acquire British citizenship.

According to court documents, additional payments of £350,000 related to Turk were transferred to Andrew through a third party account, as well as £225,000 to the duke’s previous wife, Sarah, Duchess of York.

According to a document acquired by The Daily Telegraph, Princess Eugenie was also allegedly given £25,000 in two separate installments under the direction of Turk.

It is alleged that one of the transactions, for £15,066.05, was made from Turk’s account to “Eugenie York” with the reference “birthday present.”

The duke has reimbursed Isbilen £750,000 but has declined to comment.

The lawsuit comes after Andrew agreed to pay a multi-million-pound settlement to sex accuser Virginia Giuffre in order to withdraw legal action against him.

The Duke disputes all claims of wrongdoing leveled against him.
