A plane crashes into a block of flats, and the pilot is transported to the hospital

A PILOT was airlifted to the hospital with several injuries after his jet collided into a block of flats.

Around lunchtime, the horrible occurrence occurred in Upper Heyford, near Bicester.

According to police, the pilot was able to jump from the jet before it slammed into the building.

According to the BBC, the aircraft, which is not thought to be a military aviation, crashed near Camp Road, which is home to an RAF installation.

According to a witness, the pilot parachuted down onto the building’s roof.

Tisa Kilby, 55, was out walking her dogs when she witnessed the incident.

“I glanced up and literally saw this man fall out of this jet and thought, that’s an unusual spot to be parachuting,” she explained.

“Within four or five seconds, the jet nosedived and slammed into the apartment building.”

She went on to say that she was told at the scene by police that the man had received life-changing injuries.

The apartments were unoccupied, according to Thames Valley Police, and no one else was injured.

“The light aircraft crashed into an uninhabited block of apartments on Camp Road in Upper Heyford at approximately lunchtime today,” police said in a statement.

“The pilot sustained multiple injuries and was brought to the hospital.” Nobody else was hurt as a consequence of the incident.

“Thames Valley Police have set up a small cordon at the location, however no local neighbours need to be evacuated at this time.”

“We would want to encourage anyone who has any footage or information to contact the police by dialling 101 and citing reference 857.”
