Kate Middleton was allegedly on serious mom duty at Prince Philip’s memorial, which she attended with her children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Many watchers remarked that as Kate came into the ceremony with husband Prince William and children George and Charlotte, the children may have been overwhelmed by the wedding, which was attended by various European politicians as well as senior royal family members.

Charlotte, in particular, appeared more anxious as she stepped in, but her mother Kate was there to support her. She was spotted reaching down and whispering to her daughter, “You can smile.”

Lip reading expert Jacqui Press verified this statement, telling Mail Online that both Kate and Prince William were vigilant and kept an eye out for their two children.

According to Press, William also soothed Prince George before heading into the Abbey, saying, “Let’s go in.” He then introduced his son to all of the significant persons in attendance at the service.
