A MOTHER OF FOUR has died after falling from a cliff while trekking with her husband, according to authorities.

Candice Thompson, 26, was strolling with her husband Colton when she fell up to 100 feet from the “Bulls Head” cliff in central Utah on Sunday.

According to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, their search and rescue team was informed to a fallen hiker and performed life-saving efforts as soon as they arrived.

“At the time, her husband was with her and phoned 911 while sprinting to attempt to reach her,” stated the Sevier County Sheriff’s office in a statement.

First responders attempted, but failed, to stabilise Thompson’s vitals so that she could be flown to the hospital by helicopter.

Thompson was instead transferred by ambulance to a local hospital, where she died.

“Despite the efforts of first responders and the hospital, they were unable to overcome the substantial injuries received in the fall,” the sheriff’s office stated.

Thompson, a former high school cheerleader, works as a nail technician in a Richfield, Utah, shop, according to her obituary.

Colton, her husband, and her had been married for eight years.

According to the obituary, “she had a great clientele and was very talented at what she did.”

“She loved hiking, fishing, camping, riding ATV’s, and bonfires, but her #1 priority was time spent with her family.”

According to the sheriff’s office, the death appears to have been an accident.
