The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (Punjab PDWP) on Tuesday approved the execution of four development schemes of Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education and Physical Planning & Housing departments with an estimated cost of Rs6,249.465 million.

The Punjab PDWP also recommended the inclusion of six schemes of the roads sector costing Rs35,451.21 million in upcoming Public Sector Development Program (PSDP).
These schemes were approved in the PDWP meeting presided over by Chairman Planning & Development Board Abdullah Khan Sumbal.
The approved schemes included up-gradation of the thalassemia unit & bone marrow transplant centre at Victoria Hospital, Bahawalpur (Revised) at the cost of Rs1,755.597 million, spring water supply scheme for Kotli Sattian & augmentation of water supply/drainage/sewerage system at Kahuta, Rawalpindi at the cost of Rs3,588.706 million, comprehensive water supply scheme Kamalia City (Revised) at the cost of Rs455.162 million, extension/rehabilitation of urban sewerage scheme Gojra (Revised) at the cost of Rs450 million. Dualisation of road from PD Khan, Choa Saidan Shah to Chakwal at the cost of Rs10,568.793 million, construction of dual carriageway from Old GT Road Gujrat to Lakhanwal at the cost of Rs8,849.615 million, construction of road from Hafizabad to Alipur Chattah at the cost of Rs3,034.001 million, improvement of road from Hafizabad to Khangah Dogran at Rs1,903.243 million, dualization of road from Chiniot to Pindi Bhattian Interchange at Rs7,950.735 million and widening of road from Mathial Chowk to Pindi Gheb City at the cost of Rs3,144.823 million have been cleared and recommended to the federal government for its inclusion in upcoming PSDP.
