Another PTI leader defects to join PML-N

ISLAMABAD: Another Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader Chaudhry Muhammed Asim Nazir has defected from the ruling party at a crucial stage and joined the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N).

Asim Nazir has announced to give his vote to PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif “in the wider interest of Pakistan”

In a tweet, the Faisalabad MNA said he had resigned from his post as the parliamentary secretary of PTI, after consulting with dignitaries in his constituency (NA-101).

“I announce to join PML-N,” he tweeted with the hashtag give respect to vote.

He thanked all the political workers and area dignitaries for convincing him to take the “right decision”. He said he had won the NA-101 seat four times because of his performance and love of people of the constituency.

“Nobody should be mistaken. We have ornamented Faisalabad and will keep doing so,” he said.

Asim said he should have taken the decision way earlier because the prime minister had imposed dictatorship on his party and the country. He said he would formally resign after casting vote in the vote of no-confidence motion and then contest by-election.

After Asim’s joining, the number of PML-N members would reach 85.
