Due to health concerns, Queen Elizabeth II, the first British monarch to reign for seven decades, is being requested to quit the throne in favor of her eldest son Prince Charles.
There are rumors that “delicate” preparations for Prince Charles’ coronation are in the works. “We’re planning a military event that will require clearance from the palace closer to the date,” a media outlet stated, citing a source.
It’s worth noting that the Queen has already stated that she will never abdicate and will remain in the job for the rest of her life.
Royal expert Daniella Elser, on the other side, has urged the Queen to make the “unthinkable” act of abdicating in order for Prince Charles to succeed to the throne.
The 95-year-old monarch, who has just recovered from Covid, appears “frail” in recent photos, according to Daniella Elser, who believes she should resign since “she can no longer physically accomplish” her job.
According to Express UK, the analyst said in news.co.au: “Making way for Charles to inherit the throne now is not only the practical but also the canny play here.”
Daniella Elser went on to say: “A smooth, joy-filled coronation for King Charles III, one which starred his beaming mother casting a proud eye over proceedings, would be a world away from a coronation tainted by the sadness of her death.”
In a speech honouring the 70th year of her reign, the Queen stated that when Prince Charles becomes King, she wants Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, to be recognised as ‘Queen Consort,’ raising speculation that the longest-serving British monarch may quit to allow her son to take over.
