Footage captures the moment the device collides with the fortified walls of the Government building.
Small fires can then be seen at the base of its walls.
Putin is said to have been living in the Grand Kremlin Palace since last year.
It is historically the location where the Russian leader conducts their business.
The man who was in possession of the explosive has not been identified.
According to the Star, the video that was shared on social media was also shared on local media outlets.
Given the location of the explosive launches on the Kremlin’s outer walls, the act was most likely a protest, presumably in response to the invasion of Ukraine.
Putin, on the other hand, has faced numerous assassination attempts in the past.
When asked about this in 2017 by US documentary filmmaker Oliver Stone, Russian President Vladimir Putin showed little concern.
Instead, he quoted a Russian proverb: “They say that those who are destined to be hanged will not drown.”
“Only God knows our destiny – yours and mine,” Putin added.
The protest outside the Kremlin occurred as a result of increased pressure on Russia as a result of Western sanctions.
On Wednesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov admitted that Moscow was unprepared for the “thievery” of sanctions imposed in response to Ukraine’s invasion.
“Nobody who was predicting what sanctions the West would pass could have pictured that when they [froze] the central bank reserves,” he said. It’s nothing more than thievery.”
