A TEENAGE BOY has died after falling 400 feet from the world’s tallest drop ride.

Just after 11 p.m. local time on Thursday, police received reports of an emergency at ICON Park in Orlando, Florida.

According to witnesses, a rider fell off the Orlando Free Fall attraction, according to Fox35.

Footage on the internet shows cops searching the vehicle while witnesses stand nearby.

A 14-year-old boy was taken to the hospital and died.

As investigations continue, the victim has not been identified.

“At first we thought it was a piece of the ride or whatever until we got a little closer and it was a person laying on the ground,” Montrey Williams told Fox35.

“Everyone was just screaming and panicking.”

ICON Park has yet to respond to the tragedy.

The Orlando Free Fall is 430 feet tall and can accommodate a maximum of 30 thrill seekers.

It’s unclear how many people were on the amusement park ride at the time of the incident on Thursday.

According to the ICON Park website, it is the world’s tallest free-standing drop tower.

Thrillseekers are rotated around a tower as they rise up into the air.

They are then tilted at a 30-degree angle before plummeting nearly 400 feet at speeds of up to 75 miles per hour.

Last year, on December 28, the Orlando Free Fall ride debuted.

ICON Park is also home to the Orlando Slingshot, the world’s tallest slingshot ride.

In addition, the theme park’s StarFlyer ride is the world’s tallest swing ride.

In September 2020, a 21-year-old worker died after falling while inspecting the ride.

According to the Orlando Legal Examiner, he was climbing the tower portion of the ride to conduct a safety check.

However, he stumbled backward onto a platform below.

According to cops, the worker fell between 50 and 60 feet.

He was taken to the hospital, where he died.

The Sun has reached out to ICON Park for comment.
