ISLAMABAD: National Assembly (NA) Speaker Asad Qaisar has violated the constitution by convening the session with delay, said PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday while talking to media outside the Supreme Court (SC).
The opposition leaders attended the hearing of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) plea seeking the apex court intervention to prevent “anarchy” before voting on a no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Shehbaz alleged that NA speaker Asad Qaisar has violated the constitution as he convened a session with a delay. “What difficulty the NA speaker had that he did not convene the session of the lower house before,” he asked and said, “The speaker did not convene the session consciously.”
He added that due to the meeting of the Organisation of the Islamic Countries (OIC), the opposition has delayed the long march.

On the occasion, PPP chairman said that the government has been running away from the no-confidence vote. He advised the NA speaker to act wisely otherwise these people will trap him.
He condemned the attack on parliament lodges and said the government was trying to spread terror with such attacks.
He praised the apex court for taking notice of the attack on Sindh House in Islamabad. “Judiciary will take the side of the constitution rather than any political side,” he added.
