My boyfriend dumped me because I ate Maltesers on our date — I couldn’t believe it

My boyfriend dumped me because I ate Maltesers on our date — I couldn’t believe it

Isn’t going to the movies synonymous with snacks?

You’re ready to go with a big bag of popcorn, some chocolate, and some desserts.

However, one woman has resorted to Mumsnet to report that her boyfriend abandoned her over movie snacks.

And no, they didn’t get into a fight over who got to share the food; it’s crazier than that.

The woman stated that she bought a big bag of Maltesers for their movie date, but that it terminated their relationship since her spouse was upset that she ate them before the movie started…

The woman took to Mumset to tell what had transpired, and we were all left speechless.

“I’ve been seeing someone for a few weeks,” she explained. Last night, we went to the movies, and he bought popcorn and I got a large bag of Maltesers.

“I opened them when we sat down and began eating them.”

The bulk of us are guilty of this; after all, who actually waits until the movie starts to have their snacks?

Her guy, on the other hand, was not impressed and suggested, “Why don’t you wait until the movie starts?”

“I just laughed and said ‘too tempting’ as a joke,” the woman added.

Her husband, on the other hand, appeared angered by this and began acting suspiciously with the woman.

“He sounded upset and said something along the lines of ‘you won’t have any left by the time the film starts,'” she continued.

“This got my back up a bit and I just carried on as I was.

“About ten minutes into the movie, I completed the bag.

“I noticed him staring at me and sensed his dislike, but why?” He was unconcerned because he had his popcorn.

“Throughout the film, he was grumpy, and afterward, he was irritable with me.”

“We were supposed to go out for dinner, but he said he wasn’t in the mood and that he was going home.”

The woman described their date night as “brief,” adding that she texted the man at the conclusion of the night to find out what had caused his shift in attitude.

But she was taken aback when he texted her back and said he didn’t think their relationship would work out.

“Before I went to bed, I texted him to see if I’d done anything to upset him, and he answered, ‘I don’t think this will work out, it’s nothing personal,'” she continued. ‘OK, no worries,’ I said.

“It’s been bothering me all day because he was perfectly well before we sat down in the theatre!”

“We were laughing and joking, and he literally changed as soon as we sat down.”

The story perplexed Mumsnet users, with many believing that the woman had a lucky escape.

“No, not dumped,” one individual stated. You’ve gotten away with a lucky break!! Imagine how domineering he’d be in other areas! You should be delighted to have gotten away from that!”

Another person added: “He was definitely doing you a great favor if he dumped you over that. When I go to the movies and buy popcorn, at least half of it is gone before the movie starts.”

A third remarked: “You seem to have gotten away with a lucky escape! Who doesn’t consume at least half of the munchies before to the start of the movie!?”

Another person stated: “He has a terrible voice! I assumed that as soon as they sat down, everyone tucked into the goodies.”
