Woman chokes to death during eating competition

Celebrations has turned into nightmare for an Australian woman who has been choked to death during an eating competition.

According to international media, The 60-year-old took part in a lamington (Australia’s national cake) and pie eating competition in the coastal city of Hervey Bay, in the state of Queensland to celebrate the country’s national day.
The woman had been eating a lamington which is a type of sponge cake coated with chocolate and coconut when she had a seizure and choked.
The bar’s staff rushed over and performed Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) until paramedics arrived to take the woman to Hervey Bay Hospital, where she later died.
The management and staff of the Beach House Hotel have also offered condolences to the friends and family of  the deceased woman in a Facebook post.

“The management and staff of the Beach House Hotel offer our deepest condolences to the friends and family of one of our patrons following the tragic event at our venue on Australia Day.”

Teenager to go blind from eating fries

They wrote “We acknowledge and thank our supportive patrons, staff, and the Queensland Ambulance Service for their prompt and professional response while this tragic incident was unfolding.”

“The hotel staff have been offered professional support while our thoughts firmly remain with the family at this challenging time.”
