Air raid sirens ring out in Kyiv

As shelling was reported in Kyiv, air raid sirens sounded, but there is also optimism after President Volodymyr Zelensky stated peace negotiations with Russia were now looking more “realistic.”

In the suburbs of Kyiv, four buildings were allegedly damaged within an hour, and a 35-hour curfew has been enforced following shelling that killed five people.

While the Ukrainian government continues to flee Kyiv, the prime ministers of Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovenia travelled by train to Kyiv to show Europe’s sympathy with Ukraine.

Following its incursion, Moscow has failed to capture any of Ukraine’s ten largest cities, and Ukrainian officials have expressed optimism that the war will end sooner than expected, possibly by May, claiming that Moscow is coming to terms with its failure to impose a new government by force and running out of fresh troops.

“The discussions are still going on, and from what I’ve heard, the positions taken during the negotiations are already sounding more plausible. However, more time is required for choices to be made in Ukraine’s best interests “In a video speech on Wednesday, Zelensky stated his position ahead of the next round of discussions.

Meanwhile, a brave Russian journalist who rushed a TV news studio with an anti-war message and risked Vladimir Putin’s fury was fined, but he might still face jail time.

Marina Ovsyannikova, a Russian Channel One employee, appeared in court today in connection with the video she shot before crashing the news section, in which she said: “What’s going on in Ukraine is a crime, and Russia is the aggressor.” One guy bears responsibility for this aggression: Vladimir Putin.
