LAHORE: Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Tuesday said the opposition should resolve the issues with the government through compromise. He said no violence or collision should take place between them.
Talking to newsmen in Lahore, the interior minister said the umpires were supporting Pakistan. He also said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had delayed the public gatherings. No-trust motion might not have come, if he had held rallies earlier, he maintained.
Sheikh Rashid said people had forgotten inflation and were talking about the “thieves” now.
He said even those were holding meetings, who did not go out of their houses. Some members feared whether they would get election ticket or not next time, he said. “It is we who will give assurance for ticket, not the opposition,” he said.

He also advised the Chaudhry brothers of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q to stand with Imran Khan. It was they who had to decide, he could just advise them, he said.
Sheikh claimed that all allied parties would support PM Khan regarding no-confidence motion.
Threatening the opposition, the interior minister said they should avoid collision as only one year had left in the election, lest they had to wait for 10 years.
He said he would be responsible, if any member was stopped from casting vote.
To a query if he could play the role of arbiter between the opposition and government, he said any chance of arbitration was long gone. “Mukhtiyara gall hun vadh gai hey,” he replied.
