Russia Ukraine War Updates: Will the UK go to war?

As the siege continues and threats of World War III loom, Ukraine continues to resist Russian forces.

Russia’s attack on Ukraine has reached a tipping point, but will the United Kingdom go to war?

Will the UK go to war?

Currently, the United Kingdom does not intend to go to war with Russia.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson, on the other hand, has vowed to “hobble” Russia with crippling sanctions in response to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “hideous and barbaric” war on Ukraine.

In a rare address to the nation, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin promised the Kremlin tyrant that he would pay for unleashing a “tidal wave of violence” on “innocent people.”

The speech came after Putin launched a full-scale attack on Ukraine in the early hours of February 24, 2022.

The main cities of Kyiv and Kharkiv are still under attack. Russian troops have been spotted nearby.

During an incendiary speech, Putin declared that the besieged nation “belongs to Russia.”

The United Kingdom has chosen a “significant package of sanctions” against Russia for violating international law, including financial sanctions against banks.

Mr. Johnson stated: “Our mission is crystal clear. This heinous and barbaric venture of Vladimir Putin must fail diplomatically, politically, economically, and, eventually, militarily.”

However, on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, Cabinet Minister Sajid Javid warned Putin that if Russia enters a Nato-protected area, the UK will go to war with them.

Ukraine is not a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), but its neighbours are.

“If a single Russian soldier’s foot enters Nato territory – it will be war with all of Nato,” the Health Secretary said on Good Morning Britain.

“Britain has already deployed troops to Nato’s eastern flank in neighbouring countries like Estonia.”

Will I be drafted into the army?

Military conscription is no longer used in the United Kingdom.

This means that no one will be forced to fight in a war if they do not want to.

The last time this was required in the United Kingdom was during the World Wars.

During World War I, men between the ages of 18 and 40 in the United Kingdom were required to enlist in what was known as military service between 1916 and 1920.

Military service was available in this country until 1960.

You can still enlist in the British Army, either as a regular officer or as a reserve.

The Ukrainian government has asked anyone interested in fighting to contact their embassies and make an offer.

They are forming an international fighting force, and everyone will be a volunteer.

Who could go to war?

The long-awaited Russia-Ukraine war has begun, sparked by a dispute over two Ukrainian regions recognised as independent by President Putin.

It paved the way for Russian tanks to roll into eastern Ukraine to “secure” territory captured by pro-Putin rebels in 2014. Russia has 200,000 troops ready to invade.

Earlier, the ruthless Russian president spoke at a press conference, issuing dire warnings about “Ukrainian aggression.”

However, Ukraine has vehemently denied the claims, calling them a slew of “false flag” attacks designed to give Putin an excuse to attack.

Many countries have expressed their support for Ukraine, but none have actively participated in the fight and declared war on Russia.

If Russia moves into any Nato country, the organisation will be forced to intervene, but there has been no indication of such action thus far.

Nato is in defence mode, and such countries will only provide Ukraine with resources, as many are banding together to collect food and supplies for citizens fleeing the country or seeking refuge.
