To highlight the beautiful culture of Punjab, like every year on March 14 is observed as Punjab Cultural Day across Punjab.
All the government servants, public office holders, teachers and others observed the day while wearing Punjabi costumes, turbans, lacquers and other garments. Various craft stalls were also set up across Punjab on this occasion.

In a message, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar congratulated citizens of the province on Punjab Culture Day. He said that purpose of celebrating Punjab Culture Day is to spread the message of love. He said that culture of Punjab was promoted by great Sufi poets like Baba Fariduddin Ganjshakar, Khawaja Ghulam Fareed, Bulleh Shah, Waris Shah and Mian Muhammad Bakhsh.
The CM said such Sufi poets have promoted and strengthened the cultural values and added that the societal norms of civility, moralities, sincerity and tenderness are conspicuous in the provincial culture which is known all over the world because of its multicultural diversity
To mark the March 14 as Punjab Cultural Day, various ceremonies at government offices were also held across Punjab. In this regard, a ceremony was held at the Chief Minister’s Office to commemorate Punjab Culture Day.
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, Provincial Minister Asad Khokhar and Chief Secretary Kamran Afzal were crowned with the traditional turbans of Punjab by Provincial Culture Khayal Ahmed Kastro while the CM donned turbans to the culture minister and Information Secretary Raja Jehangir Anwar.
The CM observed that the traditional culture of Punjab is unique and spectacular as this culture is globally recognised. “The Punjabis enjoy a unique identity as this culture is centuries-old,” the CM said, adding remembrance of culture and traditions is a symbol of liveliness. He said that traditional cultural festivals reflect the distinct identity and individuality of each region. Punjab is the centre of multiculturalism and this is the uniqueness of Punjab, he remarked. Love, peace, brotherhood, unity and tolerance are some of the beautiful symbols of Punjab’s culture, he maintained and added that only those nations move forward that remain connected with their culture.
Former Chief Minister Punjab and President Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) also congratulated people of Punjab on the Cultural Day. He said Punjab being a land of five rivers have great cultural values and they should be promoted.
Similarly, Punjab Police and Civil Bureaucracy of Punjab also participated in cultural day celebrations. On the directions of IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan, supervisory officers of Punjab Police carried out official duties on the occasion of Punjabi Culture Day by wearing regional attire and turban.

On the other hand, a colorful Cultural Day celebration was held at Punjab Cultural Complex on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab. Provincial Minister for Culture Khayal Ahmed Castro and Minister for School Education Murad Rass also graced the occasion.
