KARACHI: Pak Sarzameen Party Vice Chairman Arshad Vohra on Wednesday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government is pursuing a policy of eradicating the poor from the country instead of poverty.
Rejecting the increase of Rs3.76 per unit in power tariff for Karachi consumers, the PSP leader said that the rise would prove the last straw on the camelback as the prices of essential items would shoot through the roof.

In a press statement issued, Vohra said that in a city where young people were committing suicide due to poverty and unemployment, the incompetent PTI government, which came to power with the slogan of change, was increasing the prices of everything, making the lives of people miserable.
He observed that during the tenure of the present government, one day the prices of petroleum products are increased and the next day the rates of electricity and gas raised.

He demanded the federal government to immediately reverse the brutal increase in electricity tariff and abandon the policy of increasing the prices of basic consumer goods including electricity, adding that subsidies should be provided to the people.
