LAHORE: Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab DG Muhammad Gohar Nafees on Wednesday said that the provincial anti-corruption watchdog has recovered over Rs.28.770 billion including Rs.21.560 billion from retrieval of state land from December 2020 to 8th December 2021.
He said this while releasing annual performance report in a ceremony held in connection with International Anti-Corruption Day 2021at Anti-Corruption Headquarters.
Talking to the media on this occasion, the DG said that during the year of 2021, the ACE had received a total of 28,756 complaints across Punjab out of which 28,352 were disposed of, adding that as many as 6,929 enquires were initiated and 1,530 cases of corruption were registered against corrupt government officers while 1,739 were arrested for various corruption charges.
He elaborated that a total of 77,533 Kanals and 18 Marlas of land had been retrieved from land grabbers throughout the province, while Rs.17.180 billion indirectly and Rs.910 million directly were recovered in form of various government dues.
