Under the Kamyab Pakistan Programme, the health insurance programme will provide free medical services worth Rs one million annually to 7.5 million families in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P).

Addressing the ceremony, the premier said that In 2013, people stopped Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from forming a coalition government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“They said the economic and law and order situation here is bad here. But the UNDP said that this government has reduced poverty the most in the province and we gave the health cards and fixed the health system. In the 2018 elections, we achieved a two-thirds majority,” said PM Khan.

“First time in the history of Pakistan, the government is planning long-term goals, instead of short-term. We are building 10 dams in 10 years. We have also made progress in the fight against climate change,” the premier added.

Earlier in the day, Governor K-P Shah Farman and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan also called on PM Imran in Peshawar and discussed administrative issues and the political situation of the province.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhary Fawad Hussain was also present on the occasion.

The premier will also attend the registration ceremony of Ehsaas Ration Discount Programme in Peshawar where his Special Assistant for Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection Dr Sania Nishtar will give a detailed briefing.

The Ehsaas Ration Discount Programme will provide groceries to about 20 million families making up to 130 million people, belonging to the economically weaker sections.

The prime minister will also interact with the representatives of the traders association and Karyana (grocery) Alliance.
