The condolence reference was held at the Prime Minister Office in Islamabad to express solidarity with the bereaved family of Diyawadana, the Sri Lankan government and the people of Sri Lanka over the tragic happening, said the PM Office in a press release.
The prime minister said the government would not spare those oppressing others in the name of religion. Nowhere in a society had it happened that one alleged someone and the same person announced the fate of his life, he said.
He said the entire nation was committed to not letting any such thing happen again in the country. No lawyer was ready to take up the case of the person who was alleged of blasphemy, neither a judge announced a verdict in the case, he said.

“Our Prophet Muhammed (SAWW) did not come as a Rehmatullil Muslimeen (a blessing for Muslims) rather he was a blessing for the entire mankind,” he said.
He said ethical power was mightier than the physical one. We should teach our children about the ethics and the life of our Prophet (SAWW), he said.
“I am so ashamed. I am getting messages from all over the world from Pakistani diaspora that they are unable to face the people because of the incident,” he said.
