ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPPP) has demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take notice of a controversial statement of Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Ali Amin Gandapur regarding non-release of funds to the local bodies in the KPK.
“If our opponents win, they will not be allowed to enter the government office or get funds because the minister for local government bodies is my brother.” Gandapur reportedly said in an election rally.
Central Information Secretary of the PPPP, Shazia Marri alleged that Gandpur had threatened not to release funds for local bodies’ institutes if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s rivals win local bodies’ election.

Marri said the KPK provincial government was trying to influence the upcoming local bodies elections because it was at the helm of affairs in the province, adding that it would be the worst kind of example of interfering in the process of free and fair elections.
She asserted that Ali Amin Gandapur had started playing foul game after foreseeing the defeat of Umar Amin, who was his brother.

Marri said that due to popularity of Faisal Karim Kundi in Dera Islmail Khan, the leadership of PTI was unable to have a peaceful sleep.
The PPPP leader also demanded the ECP to declare Umar Amin disqualified over harassing voters and ban the entry of Ali Amin Gandapur into Dera Ismail Khan.
She also criticised the sudden appointment of Faisal Amin Gandapur as provincial minister for local government bodies in KPK while his brother Umar Amin is contesting election in the forthcoming elections.
