PTI workers manhandle person for chanting slogans against PM Imran Khan

ISLAMABAD: Highly charged workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) manhandled a man for chanting slogans against Prime Minister Imran in a party gathering in the Golra area of Islamabad on Friday.

This meeting was held for laying the foundation stone of an underpass in the area of Golra. Minister of Planning Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar was the chief guest on the occasion.

During this process, an unidentified person chanted “down with Imran Khan” which provoked the workers. Some media persons who were trying to cover the manhandling were also hustled by the PTI workers and also took away their cell phones.

However, the phones were later on returned to them after the intervention of the local leadership.

While addressing the gathering the Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar said that at least 100,00 vehicles would benefit from the construction of the underpass.

He said the project would be completed at the cost of Rs2.5 billion, adding that besides roads the people also need a supply of potable water and work has started on it.

He also assured that the citizens of Islamabad would be provided with health cards by next month.

Moreover, he said, the PM has also taken a remarkable step to provide relief to the public as they would be awarded ration cards in the next 15 days on which people can avail 35 per cent subsidy on purchase of essential commodities.
