Karachi: The secretary of Sindh Bar Council and prominent lawyer Irfan Mehr was shot dead by target killers on a motorcycle near Ayesha Masjid in the Gulistan-e-Johar are on Wednesday morning.

According to preliminary investigation, the police believe that the incident was a result of a targetted killing.

Prominent lawyer leader Naeem Qureshi and a large number of other lawyers rushed to the spot and took the injured to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The police further added that the target killers fired several shots at Irfan and managed to escape without any resistance.

Further investigation is in progress.
