LAHORE: The Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education on Tuesday told the Lahore High Court that PTI MPA Bilal Asghar Warriach did not take the matriculation examination from Lahore.
On the order of the court, the chairman BISC appeared before the court and presented the relevant record.
He stated that the MPA claimed that he passed the examination from the board intermediate and secondary education, Lahore under roll no. 16779 in 1995.
Lawyer of BISE said that under the roll number of MPA Bilal Asghar Warraich, he did not take the matriculation examination from Lahore but in the supplementary examinations a student named Saadia took the examination from the same roll number.
Justice Ayesha A Malik of Lahore High Court was hearing a petition filed by Zahid Rasool seeking disqualification of the MPA on the grounds of possessing bogus academic certificates.
During the hearing, the chairman Lahore Board was hashed on a court order.
The court questioned Warraich’s lawyer about the roll number of the exam given by Lahore Board. His counsel Azam Nazir Tarar said that MPA was studying in FC College but he had to left education complete after his family was implicated in murder case.
Later, he appeared as a private student for the intermediate examination in Faisalabad board, said Tarar.
The court also exempted chairman BISE from personal appearance before the court.
The petitioner pleaded that MPA Bilal Asghar Warriach contested elections from PP-110, Gojra, on the basis of fake educational certificates and concealed the facts in nomination papers for election.
The court reviewed all the documents and adjourned hearing for December 06.
The Punjab University has already told the Lahore High Court that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MPA Bilal Asghar Warraich had used a bogus intermediate certificate for his admission in BA in 1997.
