LAHORE: Unidentified assailants on Monday gunned down a man and injured his son, both facing murder charges, outside the entrance gate of the Lahore judicial complex.
Abdul Salam and his son Sohail were travelling to the complex to attend a hearing of their petitions for pre-arrest bail in a murder case when some unidentified assailants opened fire on them.
Islampura Police said Salam died on the spot while Sohail was shifted to a hospital in critical condition.

The police said the duo was nominated in a 2019 FIR registered by Kahna police station on charges of killing a man named Bashir and injuring others.
After the incident, police high-ups visited the scene and issued directions to the officials concerned to beef up the security arrangements outside the sessions court.
The bar association also condemned the incident and termed it a failure of the police to protect the lives of litigants and lawyers on the court premises.
