Shoaib Malik opts out of third T20I due to his son Izhaan’s illness

Pakistan veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik will not be a part of the squad for the last T20I against Bangladesh due to his son, who is ill, in Dubai.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed in a statement that Malik will not be available for the third T20I.

Iftikhar Ahmed will be replacing Malik in the playing XI.

The 39-year-old will leave for Dubia at 10:00 am local time.

The national T20 squad will return from Dhaka to Pakistan via Dubai tomorrow at 6:30 pm. However, spinners Emad Wasim and Usman Qadir will be in Dubai for a few days. They will return home with their families.

Pakistan will lock horns with the hosts Bangladesh in the final T20I of the three-match series today at Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. The match is scheduled to begin at 01:00 PST.

The national team is leading the T20I series by 2-0.

The first Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be played in Chittagong from November 26, the second and final Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh will be played in Dhaka from December 4.
