PML-N MPA moves resolution against non-availability, shortage of gas

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) legislator Aneeza Fatima on Tuesday submitted a resolution in the Punjab Assembly against the non-availability and shortage of gas and demanded that the federal government should ensure the availability of gas in every household by all means.

“The non-availability of natural gas speaks volumes about the incapability and numbness of the government,” said Fatima.

The resolution claimed that the winter season still had not started in the country, and the government had stopped providing gas for commercial and domestic consumption.

“How will the government claimants of bringing change to the country will bring change and good days for the masses?” She asked.

The announcement of providing gas to the masses only three times a day depicts the incapability and numbness of the government towards the people, she added.

Since the day PTI came into power, the gas in the country became expensive and unavailable. Although it is the prime responsibility of the state and the sitting government to provide facilities and mitigate the problems they are facing, read the resolution.

The PML-N MPA alleged that the problems of the masses were increasing due to which poor people were committing suicides after finding it difficult to make ends meet due to rising inflation.

“I urge Prime Minister Imran Khan-led federal government to ensure maximum relief to the masses in these hard times,” Fatima concluded.

Earlier on Monday, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar summoned the 37th session of the provincial assembly to meet on Wednesday at 11:30 am. Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervez Elahi will chair the session.
