K-Electric seeks Rs3.45/unit raise in tariff

KARACHI: K-Electric Limited (KE) has sought an increase of Rs3.45/kWh (unit) in tariff for September under monthly fuel cost adjustment.

In a petition to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra), the KE said it spent an additional Rs6.639 billion on fuels in September, which would be recovered from the consumers, whereas some portion of it would be picked by the government of Pakistan as per its subsidy policy for the consumers, using up to 300 units monthly.

Nepra will conduct a public hearing on the request of KE on November 3, 2021.
