President Dr. Arif Alvi has on Friday stressed the need to solidify economic and cultural relations between Norway and Pakistan.
Talking to the outgoing Ambassador of Norway to Pakistan Kjell-Gunnar Eriksen in Islamabad, the President said both countries have huge potential to promote trade and economic cooperation for mutual benefits.
He said Norway has been a strong partner for investment, trade and development cooperation. “The presence of a large number of Norwegian companies in Pakistan is a testimony to growing trade relations between the two countries,” he added.
President Alvi also highlighted the brutalities being committed by the aggressive RSS-led Modi government in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the Muslim population.
He called upon that the international community needs to fulfil its devotion to grant the people of Kashmir their right to self-determination in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions.
Yesterday, on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal, President Alvi said that India has imposed unprecedented military siege and restrictions on fundamental rights and freedoms of the Kashmiris but has failed to break the will of the Kashmiri people.
In his message, he said Pakistan solidly stands by Kashmiris in their just struggle for the right to self-determination and will continue to highlight the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) dispute at the international fora.
He said a just and peaceful settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, in accordance with relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people, is indispensable for durable peace and stability in South Asia.
