ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s exports of goods and services to Afghanistan witnessed an increase of 10.47 per cent during the fiscal year 2020/2, compared with the corresponding period of the last year, the central bank reported.

The overall exports to Afghanistan were recorded at $983.295 million during July-June 2020/21 against the exports of $890.052 million during July-June 2019/20, showing a growth of 10.47 per cent, the data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) revealed.

Meanwhile, on a year-to-year basis, the exports to Afghanistan during June 2021 also increased 38.99 per cent, from $63.250 million as against the exports of $87.915 million.

On a month-on-month basis, the exports to Afghanistan rose 31.89 per cent during June 2021, compared with the exports of $66.653 million in May 2021, the SBP data showed.

Overall Pakistan’s export to other countries witnessed a growth of 13.72 per cent during FY 2020/21 to $25.629 billion from $22.536 billion, it revealed.

The imports from Afghanistan during the period under review were recorded at $179.228 million against $121.832 million last year, showing a growth of 47.11 per cent.

Meanwhile, on a year-on-year basis, the imports from Afghanistan during June 2021 also rose 517.32 per cent to $15.501 million from $2.511 million last year.

On a month-on-month basis, the imports from Afghanistan decreased 5.04 per cent during June 2021, compared with the imports of $16.325 million in May 2021, the SBP data revealed.

The overall imports into the country increased 23.23 per cent to $53.784 billion from $43.645 billion, according to the central bank data.
