Facebook’s chief of advertising integrity Rob Leathern has departed this week, according to the international news source.
Rob Leathern handled the company’s ad products regarding several sensitive subjects such as coronavirus misinformation. He was the director of product management.
He said earlier this month that he would be leaving the company on Dec 30. His exit had not been previously reported.
He had said that he was “leaving Facebook to work on consumer privacy beyond just ads and social media,” without disclosing where he was headed.

Facebook has not commented on the news yet.
Leathern often remained the public face of Facebook’s controversial political advertising policies. Facebook was highly criticized for allowing the spread of misleading information and conspiracy theories.
Earlier in November, Leathern had tweeted that Facebook did not have “the technical ability in the short term to enable political ads by state or by the advertiser.” After that, Facebook lifted a temporary post-election ban on political ads in Georgia
