Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has urged the opposition parties to stop playing drama with the nation and resign from assemblies forthwith.
According to the details, he said the leaders of the Pakistan Democratic Movement should present resignation to the Speaker of the National Assembly and desist from playing gimmicks with the nation anymore.
The Foreign Minister said the government has consistently urged the opposition to refrain from organizing public gatherings at open places in the face of increasing coronavirus cases in the country.
He said despite these requests, the opposition parties have held a public gathering in Lahore and posed serious threats to people’s health.
On the other hand, Information Minister Shibli Faraz has termed the opposition’s public gathering in Lahore a flop show.
In a tweet today, he said the public has rejected the narrative of the opposition parties.
The Minister said PDM leaders were perturbed due to the non-participation of people from Lahore and Punjab.

He recalled that poisonous language was used against armed forces in the Gujranwala rally, the tomb of Quaid-e-Azam was desecrated in Karachi and anti-Pakistan slogans were used in Quetta gathering. He regretted that the residents of Lahore have declared traitors at Minar-e-Pakistan.
It is pertinent to mention here that the opposition alliance will hold a “decisive” long march against the government in January 2021, the leaders had decided in a meeting in Islamabad on December 8th.
