KARACHI: Karachi’s electricity consumers have received another relief as the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) announced a cut in power prices.
According to the notification, NEPRA reduced electricity by Rs1.79 per unit under the monthly fuel cost adjustment for July 2025. The relief will apply to K-Electric as well as government-owned distribution companies, and consumers will see the benefit in their September bills.
The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had earlier requested a cut of Rs1.69 per unit for July’s adjustment, but NEPRA approved Rs1.79 per unit.
Separately, NEPRA had already reduced electricity by 78 paisas per unit for K-Electric in June’s adjustment. Combined with July’s cut, K-Electric consumers will get a total relief of Rs 2.57 per unit in September bills.
While other consumers already received June’s relief earlier, K-Electric customers will see both June and July adjustments reflected in their upcoming bills.
