Karachi: Rain has begun in the outskirts of Karachi, including Bahria Town and the Super Highway area, as a low-pressure system over Rajasthan has intensified into a depression.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, rain is expected to continue intermittently until Tuesday, with the intensity likely to increase by this evening. Heavy rainfall (downpour) is expected in various parts of Karachi later today.
Thunderclouds are currently forming in the northern and eastern parts of the city and are gradually spreading towards other areas. The eastern parts of the city are already experiencing rain, with light showers reported in Landhi, Quaidabad, and surrounding areas.
The Met Office has issued an urban flooding warning for Karachi, urging all relevant departments to remain alert. Authorities were already instructed to take precautionary measures several days ago.
This weather system is bringing widespread rain to interior Sindh and Karachi.
