ISLAMABAD: The birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Rahmatul-lil-Alameen and Khatam-un-Nabiyeen, is being celebrated across the country today with great religious fervor and devotion.
Cities, towns, and streets have been decorated with lights, while mosques, markets, buildings, and intersections are adorned with green flags, reflecting the nation’s love and respect for the Holy Prophet ﷺ.
Special processions and gatherings are being held nationwide, where participants are reciting Darood-o-Salam and expressing their deep affection for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
The day began with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital and 21-gun salutes in all provincial capitals. After Fajr prayers, special prayers were offered in mosques and homes for the progress, peace, security, and prosperity of the country as well as for the unity of the Muslim Ummah.
Lahore and Multan glittered with lights and colors as citizens marked Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ with devotion and enthusiasm. The markets were decorated with electric lamps, while the minarets of mosques shone brightly with special illuminations.
In Islamabad and Rawalpindi, too, faithful citizens organized gatherings, processions, and special prayers, reaffirming their devotion to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
A Mehfil-e-Milad was held at the Governor House in Karachi on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ.
Speaking at the event, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori said that the blessed birth of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was a source of mercy for all humanity. He added that the Seerat-e-Tayyaba of the Holy Prophet ﷺ provides complete guidance for every aspect of life.
Governor Tessori noted with regret that Muslims today are unfortunate for not fully adhering to the Sunnah and Seerat of the Prophet ﷺ. Sharing a personal reflection, he said that it was on the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal that he was appointed to the office of Governor, which he considers a special blessing.
