Parking charges at Islamabad airport revised: Here are the new rates

ISLAMABAD – Parking charges at Islamabad International Airport have been increased, sparking frustration among passengers and visitors.

The new rates have already caused frequent arguments between travelers and parking staff, with many people unhappy about the added costs.

New Parking Rates:

  • First 3 hours: Increased from Rs90 to Rs120
  • After 3 hours (per hour): Increased from Rs50 to Rs70

Families and commuters say the hike has made it more expensive to pick up or drop off passengers, adding to their travel burden.

Islamabad International Airport, which opened on April 20, 2018, is Pakistan’s largest airport, spread over 19 square kilometers. It has modern facilities, including 15 passenger boarding bridges, the ability to handle two Airbus A380 aircraft, and parking for around 2,200 vehicles. The airport can serve up to 9 million passengers annually and hosts both domestic and international flights, along with frequent visits from VIPs and foreign delegates.

Despite its advanced facilities, the recent parking fee increase has become a sore point for regular visitors, many of whom are demanding that charges be reconsidered.
