Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has announced that the Pakistan Army has accelerated rescue and relief operations across flood-affected areas of the country. During these efforts, two soldiers embraced martyrdom while two others sustained injuries.

According to the DG ISPR, boat-based rescue operations are underway in Kartarpur, while aerial relief missions are being conducted in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Karakoram Highway has been reopened, and restoration work on roads in Ghizer is progressing rapidly. So far, 28,000 people have been shifted to safe locations, and damaged bridges and highways in affected regions have been repaired.

Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry further stated that 225 tons of food rations have been distributed among flood victims, while flood relief units are active in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Azad Kashmir. More than 20,000 people have received treatment and medical assistance at Army-run camps.

The DG ISPR confirmed that two soldiers were martyred and two injured during the ongoing relief operations. He emphasized that, under directives from the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal, the Pakistan Army continues uninterrupted relief efforts, standing firmly with the affected people during this difficult time.
