RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has launched a major flood relief operation in Gilgit-Baltistan, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
Despite tough weather and the region’s rough mountains, a PAF C-130 aircraft flew from PAF Base Nur Khan carrying 7 tons of food, daily essentials, and life-saving medicines to Gilgit. These supplies will be distributed in remote valleys badly affected by floods, in coordination with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), to help families cut off due to damaged roads and communication lines.
Along with the aid, the PAF relief team also evacuated 75 stranded people from disaster-hit areas, bringing them to safety.
This operation is part of a nationwide relief drive, showing the Armed Forces’ strong commitment to protecting people in times of natural disasters. In the coming days, PAF aircraft and teams on the ground will continue to deliver food, medicine, shelter, and medical care to affected communities.
The quick response by PAF has given much-needed hope to flood victims in Gilgit-Baltistan, proving once again that the Armed Forces stand by the nation in every difficult time.
