The Punjab government has restored the old pension rules, allowing widows and unmarried daughters of deceased government employees to once again receive a family pension for life.
Last year, the law had been changed to limit family pensions to 10 years after an employee’s death, but that decision has now been reversed through a new notification.
The notification also mentioned that if there are multiple marriages, the pension will be shared among all eligible family members according to the rules.
