RAWALPINDI: A woman in Rawalpindi’s Girja Road area allegedly died from severe domestic violence at the hands of her husband.
According to police, the suspect attempted to bury her quietly in Kot Addu, but relatives noticed visible signs of torture on the body and alerted authorities.
Police intervened, ordered the body to be brought back to Rawalpindi, and took the husband into custody. The woman’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and an investigation has been launched.
The victim, identified as Samina, was allegedly killed by her husband in the Girja Road area of Rawalpindi. On August 10, her husband and son brought her to the hospital, claiming she had been injured from a fall down the stairs. Samina tragically succumbed to her injuries on August 14.
After her death, her body was placed in a coffin and taken to Kot Addu for a swift and silent burial. However, during the final ritual washing before the burial, relatives discovered visible signs of abuse and torture on her body. They immediately alerted the local police, who intervened and ordered the body to be transported back to Rawalpindi.
Police have since taken the husband into custody.
