Free driving license service for the people of Karachi has been introduced.
According to sources, this service is being offered with official permission from the Sindh authorities, and a DLS (Driving License Sindh) van will provide the service free of cost.
IT has been clarified that the free driving license is only for citizens who do not already have a learner’s driving license. People who already have a learner or permanent license, or those seeking renewals, are not eligible for this service.
This initiative will save citizens from standing in long queues for hours to obtain a learner’s driving license.
Where and When Will the DLS Van Be Available?
The DLS van will provide the free learner’s driving license service on the following schedule:
July 23, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, for residents of District Central and District West
July 24, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, for residents of District East and South
It is important to note that the learner’s license fee is Rs. 50 for motorcycles and Rs. 100 for cars.
This step is initiated by social welfare and the chairman of the foundation also mentioned that efforts are underway to introduce an online service for the convenience of citizens in the near future.
