As floodwaters continue to wreak havoc across various regions of Pakistan, the Pakistan Army has launched large-scale aerial rescue and relief operations to support affected citizens. With its swift and timely response, the military is demonstrating its full commitment to standing with the nation during this crisis.
Army Aviation units are leading the charge as helicopters actively rescue people stranded in remote and hard-to-reach areas. The operations span across Punjab and other flood-affected regions, carried out in full coordination with local administrations.
In one such operation, Army Aviation teams successfully rescued three individuals from the flood-affected village of Chakri Rajan, where rising water levels had made ground access impossible. Similarly, they airlifted 27 people to safety from Chakwal and Khanpur after floodwaters blocked traditional evacuation routes.
More rescue missions followed:
- In Chak Monju, 10 individuals were evacuated and transported to safer zones.
- In Dhok Bhadr, a high-risk operation led to the successful rescue of 31 flood victims.
- In Darapur, helicopters carried out back-to-back sorties, rescuing 38 citizens and relocating them to safe shelters.
Army personnel distributed life jackets and emergency relief supplies, directly meeting the immediate needs of the victims alongside their rescue efforts. These included food, water, and first aid, especially for vulnerable groups such as women, children, and the elderly.
The local administrations in the affected districts have praised the Pakistan Army for their efficiency, dedication, and coordination in these challenging circumstances. Joint efforts between civil and military teams have significantly increased the speed and reach of the rescue missions.
As the situation evolves, the Pakistan Army continues to monitor flood-prone areas and remains ready to respond wherever needed. Their actions reaffirm the message that “the military stands firmly with the people of Pakistan not just in times of war, but also in times of national emergency and humanitarian need.”
