Indonesia’s Defence Minister meets field Marshal Asim Munir to discuss military ties

RAWALPINDI: Indonesia’s Minister of Defence, Lieutenant General (Retd) Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, at General Headquarters, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Leading a delegation of representatives from various services and intelligence agencies, the Indonesian Defence Minister praised the Pakistan Army’s role in combating terrorism and reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening defence ties with Pakistan.

During the meeting, both sides discussed bilateral defence cooperation, regional security dynamics, and explored ways to further strengthen military ties.

The meeting reaffirmed the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries. Field Marshal Asim Munir emphasized the importance of mutual collaboration in maintaining regional peace and stability.
