KARACHI: A 19-year-old Tunisian girl, Senda Ayari, attempted suicide after a failed relationship with a youth from Lyari.

Senda had developed a relationship with Mohammad Amir, a resident of Khadda Market, Lyari, through social media. Their virtual friendship blossomed into love, and the couple decided to get married. To formalize their union, Senda obtained a Pakistani visa and arrived in Karachi on November 28, 2024.

Initially, the couple lived happily after their marriage. However, in recent months, tensions emerged between them over minor issues, eventually leading Amir to divorce her.

However, their marital happiness was short-lived. A few months ago, arguments over minor issues began between the couple, ultimately resulting in Amir divorcing Senda.

Senda’s 90 day Pakistani visa expired on February 18, causing her significant distress and worry about her impending return to her home country.

In response to her situation, the Ministry of Interior has offered to issue her an immediate exit permit. Visa officials from the Ministry of Interior have requested her documents and instructed her to apply for the exit permit online.
