Donald Trump claims he stopped nuclear war between Pakistan and India through trade

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that he helped prevent a nuclear war between Pakistan and India by using trade as a diplomatic tool. Speaking at a press conference, Trump said he was proud of his role in stopping what could have been a major conflict.

Trump explained that both countries were on the brink of war, and there was no one stepping in to stop them at the time. He credited his trade discussions and political strategy for helping to de-escalate the tension.

He added that a Pakistani delegation will soon visit the U.S. to discuss trade deals. Trump also called both Pakistan and India “valuable nations” and emphasized that both countries have large nuclear arsenals, which made the situation even more dangerous.

Trump insisted that his efforts made both countries back down and praised the Republican Party for its role in maintaining peace.

Trump Warns Against Nuclear Weapons in Iran:

In the same press conference, Trump turned his attention to Iran’s nuclear ambitions. He firmly declared that he would not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons under any circumstances.

Trump said he was previously very close to reaching a nuclear deal with Iran and still hopes to agree, though he admitted the chances now are slim.

“I still want to help Iran become prosperous,” Trump said, “but one thing is clear—they must not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons.”
