Karachi police have arrested Salman Farooqi, the main suspect involved in the recent incident of torture on a citizen in the Defence area. He has been shifted to Gizri Police Station.

DIG South Asad Raza confirmed that Salman Farooqi, who was responsible for the violent assault on a citizen in Khayaban-e-Ittehad, has been apprehended. The suspect will be presented before a magistrate within 24 hours.

Earlier, police had also arrested Farooqi’s driver and security guard for their involvement in the incident.

DIG Asad Raza further stated that the vehicle used during the assault has been taken into custody. He emphasized that the police are treating the matter with utmost seriousness and are trying to establish contact with the victim’s family.

He added that a case is being registered against Salman Farooqi and his accomplices, asserting that no one is above the law and the victim will be provided full justice.

Meanwhile, Sindh Home Minister Zia Lanjar has also taken notice of the incident and has requested an immediate report from the SSP South.

The minister stated that no one is allowed to take the law into their own hands, and a thorough investigation must be conducted. He stressed that legal action will be taken against those involved in the assault and that the law is equal for all citizens.
