In a big relief for farmers in Punjab, the provincial government has lifted all restrictions on the movement of wheat.
Now, wheat can be transported freely both within Punjab and to other provinces without needing any special permits.
This move is expected to help farmers get better prices for their wheat by allowing them to sell it in a more open and competitive market.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved a new policy that supports a free market for wheat buying.
For the first time in Punjab’s history, private companies will also be allowed to buy wheat, ending the government’s complete control over the process.
